WHY DO I NEED A LAB QUALITY PREGNANCY TEST IF I TOOK A HOME TEST?
Many home pregnancy tests say they are 99% accurate. [1] However, there are many factors that can contribute to a wrong result. A wrong result usually occurs because the test is not performed correctly, when the person is nervous or scared, or feeling overwhelmed about the result.
Simple things such as taking the pregnancy test too late in the day, not waiting the right amount of time to read the test, or taking it too soon after you have missed a period can give you a wrong answer. [2] You can get a false negative or positive result.
Let Compassion Women's Center take the guess work out of the test. Contact us today to schedule an appointment for a free, confidential, pregnancy test at our office in Claremore, Oklahoma.
DO YOU KNOW
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is the pregnancy hormone that is produced in the placenta to help maintain the pregnancy. [3] The body starts producing HCG at the time of conception and HCG reaches its highest level between 8 and 11 weeks of pregnancy. HCG levels are sufficient enough in urine for a pregnancy to be detected between 10 to 14 day after conception. This is why it is best to wait at least a week after a missed period to take a pregnancy test.
